Face ID was one of the most prominent features Apple introduced in its latest hardware late last year. The Face ID is a biometric authentication system introduced with the iPhone X. This feature allows iPhone X users to quickly unlock their devices after scanning their face.
The same Face ID feature is expected to make its way into various Apple products at some point in the future. The upcoming iPad Pro is the prime candidate to get this biometric authentication system if some of the recent rumors are to be believed. The same sentiment is echoed today by Rosenblatt Securities analyst Jun Zhang in his recent note to investors.
The analyst also believes that the new iPad Pro models will drastically reduce the bezel size and there won’t be any physical Home button on the front. Currently, Apple offers iPad Pro in two different sizes, one measuring in at 12.9-inches and the other at 10.5 inches. The analyst, however, fails to utter a word on whether or not Apple will differentiate these two options based on minimal bezels or the o Home button.
Nothing is this note comes as a surprise because Apple is known for refreshing all its major devices lineups every year, and Face ID has already become an important and iconic aspect of their devices. I cannot wait to see what the new iPad Pro looks like and if whether or not Apple is going to introduce design cues of the iPhone X in its iPad Pro lineup.
The current version of iPad Pro was launched in June of last year. So, if the company plans on unveiling a new iPadPro in June 2018, it’d fall in line with company’s yearly refresh plan.
