Apple Announces 5.8-inch iPhone XS and 6.5-inch iPhone XS Max

Apple, today, has announced the 2018 iPhone models dubbed as iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.  The Max variant is far bigger than any iPhone we have seen so far. The iPhone XS has a 5.8-inch display while the bigger iPhone XS Max comes with the 6.5-inch display. Both devices’ displays are OLED.

Both the iPhone XS and XS Max looks identical to their predecessor the iPhone X. However, there are two immediate differences: both new models are available in a gold color option, and second, the XS Max is gigantic – the biggest iPhone ever.

Just like any other “s” upgrade, 2018 iPhones are mostly defined by their internal upgrades. The new iPhone models see a speed increase in Face ID, have displays with more dynamic range, and wide stereo sound. Water resistance of both models has also been improved.

Apple has introduced its new A12 Bionic processor in iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. It is a six-core chip and among the first to use 7nm process.

The real news of 2018 iPhone lineup is the iPhone XS Max, which has a gigantic 6.5-inch screen. That’s far bigger than the 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus and even bigger than Samsung’s Note 9 (6.4-inch.) We can take it as Apple’s admission that larger smartphones are here to stay.

Despite having larger displays, the iPhone XS is still smaller than the 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus.
